The Women Leaders Of The World
Women are increasingly being given the opportunity to lead all over the world. As a result, the world now has many women running the affairs of their nations. We will spend some time looking at some that have already made history.
Mia Mottley, the Prime Minister of Barbados
Mia Amor Mottley was born on the 1st of October 1965. She is a lawyer and politician, and she leads the Barbados Labour Party. Currently, she is Barbados’ Prime Minister. A woman has never held the Prime Minister position before her, and Mottley is the eighth prime minister of Barbados. Additionally, her term as prime minister is Barbados’ first under a republican system. Before becoming prime minister, she was a member of parliament from 1994 to 2008, and she served in ministerial positions before also becoming the first female attorney-general of Barbados.
Zuzana Caputova, President of Slovakia
Zuzana Caputová is a Slovak politician and environmental activist and the fifth president of Slovakia. She was appointed June 15th, 2019. At 45, she is the youngest president in Slovakian history and the first woman to hold office as president. She gained popularity for her activism in her decade-long campaign against the construction of a hazardous landfill in Pezinok, her hometown. She was awarded the 2016 Goldman Environmental Prize for this.
